Remembrance day

Tomorrow is remembrance day. It a day where we all take two minutes silence, and honour those that died and fought in world war one. We also wear poppies as well for remembrance day, and the run up o it.

rememberance day sundayDue to already wearing red, and not having much time. I added a poppy to the manicure in the form of the badge.

rememberance day

I’m posting this early as I wont have time to do it tomorrow.

Thank you.

Blog your heart out

It’s been very quiet around here lately which I apologise for. It couldn’t be helped I’ve been hacking up my lungs, thankfully they are still in place ;). Nail polish and chest infections don’t get on well for me, so I’ve had naked nail for nearly 2 weeks O.O. Luckily these second lots of antibiotics seem to be doing the trick although I’m still hoofing as my fiance calls it.

The lovely Katie from lost and found nominated me for blog your heart out, which couldn’t have come at a better time. So here we go.

1.What/who encouraged you to start blogging? There were personal issues going on in my life, and polishing became my destresser. After following Nicole from nail polish wars for months I decided to follow her tutorial, then took this blog plunge.

2. How did you choose what topic(s) to blog about? I was doing my nails a lot to deal with personal issues, and thought why not catalogue it online.

3. What is something that most people don’t know about you?  That I have a blog. I get paranoid over peoples judgement, which is really silly as most of the time I don’t care what people think.

4. What three words describe your style? Girly (get told it a lot, probably due to all my skirts and dresses), colourful with a strong vintage vibe when it comes to dresses and skirts.

5. What do you like to do when you are not blogging? I’m at university studying special needs and inclusion studies. Lately I’ve been volunteering a lot to find some direction career wise. I read a lot also, and lately I’ve opened up my own online nail accessories shop called she sells seashells.

I’m nominating you all, as I think this is fun and short.

Right back to preparing university stuff for tomorrow.

Thank you 🙂

Seaside Splash: July GlossyBox

This months Glossybox has nail polish strips!!! I did say if my Glossybox has nail related products I would share. Loving this box this month. Bit of a warning: this is picture heavy, went a bit crazy taking pictures in the garden this morning.

july 2013 glossybox

How pretty is the box?!!? Yeh I’m a complete sucker for pretty packaging. Glossybox never fails on packaging for me, and I recycle it all in various ways.

sunscreen glossybox july

First product to be promptly used was this tester of COOLA mineral face SPF 20 unscented sunscreen as the weather is glorious but my milk bottle skin doesn’t agree. I burn ridiculously easy. Nice things about this product are its organic which is always a plus, and it isn’t oily or shiny once on. On the downside I had to use double the amount of standard sunscreen; doesn’t go very far. Now this is more of a personal choice, but I wish it was scented I don’t like the natural smell. Once I put it on I havent smelt it at all, so I’m on the fence a bit there. Great product to fit in with the boxes seaside splash theme.

face spritz july glossybox

Anatomicals spray misty for me facial spritz for a cool down. Anyone else a little apprehensive at spraying stuff at your own face like me? I’ve had a spray, but before that I went and sprayed moms and my nieces face. All of us like the smell. Mom said it cooled her down slightly. For me it was more of an instant cool then back to normal.

texture mist july glossybox

Alterna bamboo style boho waves tousled texture mist is a product I would welcome any-day. Texture sprays and creams work well for my hair when its long as it has a natural wave and sometimes if im lucky curl to it. Slap some on and voilà easy hair for me. After a quick spray on my ponytail I think I would need to be generous with it, as only a bit went wavy (then again my hairs pretty straight today?). The smell is very light and nice.

sleek paint pout

Very intrigued by these Sleek pout paints. I received 2 in minx and mauve over. My sister has already put her name down for mauve over if it’s too bright for my skin tone, and at the moment I don’t think it is too much of a shocker for my skin. I’ll be asking everyone I come into contact with today if it’s too bright I’m like that hahah. Used a teeny tiny amount and applied it with my finger, and I have to say its pretty on the money with the pigmentation and small amount talk. Surprise thumbs up there.

essie glossy july

When I opened the box my eyes ZOOMED in on these!! I have wanted to try them for a while especially the once with writing on. That design is to die for. I got croc’ n chic which is a me design and very neutral. This made the box for me for 2 reasons. Reason 1 they cost £10.00 in boots and I can’t justify it for strips so yay. Reason 2 the box costs £10.00 (without shipping) so it’s a great item for a nail lover like me to receive without the rest of the contents.

You all know if I cant use polish for a while or I’m out the country strips are my go to, so Im looking forward to trying these.

As always I have to say thank you to Rich as he got me the subscription to Glossybox. I did get this box free from filling in the review questionnaires and getting glossy dots. Now I feel I havent overloaded you enough with photos, so here’s an Allium that’s sadly no longer in flower but pretty all the same.

Get your GlossyBox here!

Thank you 🙂

Hope everyone’s enjoying this glorious weather!!

O.P.I Catch me in your net <3

Is it me or does it feel good when you can remove something off your wish list? One I thought that wouldn’t leave my wish list for a long time was O.P.I catch me in your net. It all started relatively low-key with my regular eBay browsing. Couldn’t find any of the dupes for a decent price, but the O.P.I popped up on eBay. I knew it would go for a crazy price, but I thought I’ll bid £6 at the most. Maybe I will strike lucky. I didn’t even get round to bidding or watching it in the end. My phone was on the dressing table, and I was blogging away. Then I get a phone call from my fiancé. Turns out he won the auction. He ssaid “guess how much I won it for?” my reply “I don’t want to know”. He reassured me it was cheaper than he could buy it for. £25.00 :O brand new. That got me thinking do I really want to know. My curiosity won. With postage it came to £17.00. It’s the most expensive nail polish I own O.O.

opi catch me in your net

LOOK AT THE PRECIOUS ONE!!!!!! I was all sorts of excited to own this, as I never thought I would. I promptly went and deleted it off my wish list XD.

OPI catch me in your net green shimmer

Look at the green shimmer. OK I have a confession I need to learn how to figure to take photos without flash, because I shake and get a bunch of blur. As you’ve probably guessed the rest of the pictures on this post will be like this. With the flash on it doesn’t pick up the green shimmer :(. Sorry.

opi ctach me in your net manicure

I used 3 coats for full coverage. I LOVE this polish, such a nice surprise fiancé.

Thank you.

P.S. Sorry about the picture quality.

I own the whole collection!!

My O.P.I New York City ballet collection is COMPLETE!!!!! Sheers don’t really appeal to me, but this collection is gorgeous. It’s feminine, soft, sophisticated, and perfect. Perfect for a bride to wear on the big day. When I first saw the collection after its release I wasn’t sure which colours to buy, and lets face it O.P.I’s aren’t cheap, so I got this:

I kept the box as it had the colour names originally, now I’ve got the whole collection it’s been chucked. After trying them all I could only afford the one (this was before I became a blogger, clothes were more of a priority). I got my pointe exactly. Then months later I got access to a warehouse card, and picked up pirouette my whistle. It was technically free as it was on 5 for 4 when I was getting Christmas presents. Simply couldn’t afford the rest. Man I miss the days when I got paid every Thursday. Damn back. The rest got added to the wish list. My wonderful fiancé went spying when he was shopping for my present, and got me the rest. The family is complete. Lets stare for a while!

*sigh* feels good to own an expensive collection before the end of the year they were released. Just had to share my excitement over this. Those mini’s are perfect to take on holiday with a podge pot, and mini hand cream.

Polishes: Barre My Soul, My Pointe Exactly, Don’t Touch My Tutu!, You Callin’ Me A Lyre?, Care To Danse?, Pirouette My Whistle.
