How many candles?

Haven’t had birthday candles since I was 18, and thinking about it the more you add the more likely I am to have a clumsy moment…..and no one wants a fire.

Tomorrow is my birthday and I’m pretty what ever about it now, but my nails have to be right for the day. What this idea of ‘right’ is I have no clue, but I already removed an ok manicure late last night. I’m also posting early as it’s a busy day tomorrow.

IMG_4545NPersonally cuticle oil on photo’s was niggly area for me until I no longer had time to moisturise often…..oops. My cuticles are terribly dry.

IMG_4548ZI am loving #party from the Tara emporium it is gorgeous!

IMG_4549AOn my accent finger I stamped a few things that I personally like. There are keys, birdcages, birds, music notes, and a heart on my other hand.

IMG_45A51The base is Essie smooth sailing which I only brought for it’s similarity to picture polish denim. The formula on this Essie is good, so I don’t understand why it’s so hit and miss for me with others from Essie.

IAAAMG_4552So not sure on the long nails, but to be honest cutting them down and filing them is a time consuming task that I don’t really have time for lately. Feel like I’m being stretched thin lately between uni,2 different lots of volunteering, and running the shop; I will persevere though!!!! It won’t beat me *do the running man*, and now I’m rambling.

Thank you!

Coral leaf

Seems that my nails get done twice a week, and I’m ok with that. Firstly I don’t often get chipping, and even then its at the five day mark. The five day mark was last saturday, and your seeing pictures from late last night. Yeh I’ve been a busy bee. Buzz.

Last saturday my order from rainbow connections which included part of my friends birthday present, and wingdust coral leaf, as I’ve been making eyes at it for a while. Would have snatched wingdust ocean tears as well, but a las it was sold out.

My aunty decided she wanted coral leaf on, and I’m telling you all know she is a pain in the ass good job I love her. She’s so fidgety and always moans about something. You know when she’s holding something in. This is all narrated by “if you don’t shut up moaning I won’t do it again” my mom “I don’t know why you bother doing them for her”. Anyway she liked the colour and that was the end of that!

windust coral leafThis is 3 coats of coral leaf. Application is easy peasy and there is no fishing for gold flakes yay.

shells and starfishThe coral which seems orange on these photos is Essie sunday funday. Another one that hates me what am I doing wrong with them. 4 thin coats it took 4 and then I gave up. Seems SV worked some juju and theres no more streakiness. Sunday funday was a present and my friend got herself one. She had no problems, but she applied 2 thick coats.

mix and match beachy lookCan you see the coral particles in coral leaf? They are a nice surprise.

essie sunday fundayPlease ignore the tip wear. On my little finger I stamped with the moyou sailor plate, and on my index finger I added some shells from the shop, and a starfish I am going to eventually stock in the shop.

Thank you for reading :).

Scintilla

Today I have my very first U.K. indie from Tarastalons. I pounced on the two I liked when the shop restocked. Someone stole the one I wanted from underneath me the other day…..well not literally I just feel a tad bitter the pretty was sold.

scintilla tarastalonsScintilla is a white and lavender glitter topper. The base is full of tiny silver glitter allowing you to see the base colour, but also making it shimmery. The bigger pieces of glitter are lavender and white squares and hexes. I am looking forward to trying it on top of other pastel polishes, and darker colours come autumn. The only downside is the brush. I needed to dip it in the polish a couple of times to cover one nail, but then it is a mini 5ml bottle. The formula was perfect for me a.k.a no fishing. You will be seeing another one of Tara’s polishes soon, and I’m excited to use it after this polish.

Essie navigate herMy base colour was a stressful one. The lovely Wendy saw me moaning on twitter about my no buy (at the time; I’ve decided to call it a low buy now). My polish monster was shouting at me to buy Essie navigate her. Wendy popped up and gave me hers as she doesn’t like the formula. I can see where she is coming from! First two coats were streaky, and the third was perfect. Except every coat bubbled!! I have no clue why at all. This is my fourth Essie and I only love the formula on one. What gives do Essie’s hate me and Wendy or something? Navigate her is the perfect green for me. It is a beautiful shade, pretty sure it matches my wallpaper in my room. Once I added scintilla the bubbles went into hiding thankfully.

Also thank you again Wendy!!

scintilla and navigate herYou guys I need your help kind of. What do you think about my nails being squared off? I can’t decide between my normal shape or squared off. I feel they look acrylically squared off; do they?

Thank you 🙂

Seaside Splash: July GlossyBox

This months Glossybox has nail polish strips!!! I did say if my Glossybox has nail related products I would share. Loving this box this month. Bit of a warning: this is picture heavy, went a bit crazy taking pictures in the garden this morning.

july 2013 glossybox

How pretty is the box?!!? Yeh I’m a complete sucker for pretty packaging. Glossybox never fails on packaging for me, and I recycle it all in various ways.

sunscreen glossybox july

First product to be promptly used was this tester of COOLA mineral face SPF 20 unscented sunscreen as the weather is glorious but my milk bottle skin doesn’t agree. I burn ridiculously easy. Nice things about this product are its organic which is always a plus, and it isn’t oily or shiny once on. On the downside I had to use double the amount of standard sunscreen; doesn’t go very far. Now this is more of a personal choice, but I wish it was scented I don’t like the natural smell. Once I put it on I havent smelt it at all, so I’m on the fence a bit there. Great product to fit in with the boxes seaside splash theme.

face spritz july glossybox

Anatomicals spray misty for me facial spritz for a cool down. Anyone else a little apprehensive at spraying stuff at your own face like me? I’ve had a spray, but before that I went and sprayed moms and my nieces face. All of us like the smell. Mom said it cooled her down slightly. For me it was more of an instant cool then back to normal.

texture mist july glossybox

Alterna bamboo style boho waves tousled texture mist is a product I would welcome any-day. Texture sprays and creams work well for my hair when its long as it has a natural wave and sometimes if im lucky curl to it. Slap some on and voilà easy hair for me. After a quick spray on my ponytail I think I would need to be generous with it, as only a bit went wavy (then again my hairs pretty straight today?). The smell is very light and nice.

sleek paint pout

Very intrigued by these Sleek pout paints. I received 2 in minx and mauve over. My sister has already put her name down for mauve over if it’s too bright for my skin tone, and at the moment I don’t think it is too much of a shocker for my skin. I’ll be asking everyone I come into contact with today if it’s too bright I’m like that hahah. Used a teeny tiny amount and applied it with my finger, and I have to say its pretty on the money with the pigmentation and small amount talk. Surprise thumbs up there.

When I opened the box my eyes ZOOMED in on these!! I have wanted to try them for a while especially the once with writing on. That design is to die for. I got croc’ n chic which is a me design and very neutral. This made the box for me for 2 reasons. Reason 1 they cost ÂŁ10.00 in boots and I can’t justify it for strips so yay. Reason 2 the box costs ÂŁ10.00 (without shipping) so it’s a great item for a nail lover like me to receive without the rest of the contents.

You all know if I cant use polish for a while or I’m out the country strips are my go to, so Im looking forward to trying these.

As always I have to say thank you to Rich as he got me the subscription to Glossybox. I did get this box free from filling in the review questionnaires and getting glossy dots. Now I feel I havent overloaded you enough with photos, so here’s an Allium that’s sadly no longer in flower but pretty all the same.

Hope everyone’s enjoying this glorious weather!!

Pastel tape manicure

Tapey time. Haven’t used stripping tape in a while, so it was time to dig it out. Now there is some terrible shrinkage coming up. You all know the culprit!! Seche vite. Never have I had shrinkage this bad before. It was that bad I gave up on clean up. Seriously annoyed me.

gradient tape manicure

Before the top coat annoyed me I was already disliking this due to the multiple coats of polished used. Looked thick and nasty. I decided to do a gradient underneath to add some fun to the manicure.

tape manicure shrinkage

It’s horrible isn’t it?! Got to stay true to my blog and post the failures.
